Our Project Development Committee recently toured the Homeless Youth Connection in Phoenix where we learned about their mission- to eliminate barriers to graduation for youth experiencing homelessness. HYC offers a comprehensive services program that engages high school-aged youth in our local schools that are facing homelessness complete high school, gradulate and create a plan for their future. They also assist them with transitional housing to provide them a safe place to stay while they finish high school. Through their support and programs, 87% of HYC graduates enroll in college, enter the military or join the workforce.
We enjoyed touring their facility and learning more about the support and assistance they need so that they can continue providing such valuable support to our local youth. For our first partnership- HomeAid Phoenix will be supporting HYC this year in the annual Seats & Feet donation drive, collecting and donating new pairs of socks and underwear for students in their program. We are thrilled to assist in their mission and look forward to seeing the results!
