HomeAid Phoenix Breaks Ground on Family Success Center Expansion at Maggie’s Place

HomeAid Phoenix officially broke ground on its newest build project in the valley, the 1,600 square foot expansion of the Family Success Center at Maggie’s Place. The expansion will allow Maggie’s Place to broaden and expand program offerings and give them the necessary space for their support services.

The project, captained by PWI Residential, Shea Homes and Woodside Homes, along with countless donors and trade partners, will expand the Center to over 5,900 square feet, and provide 4 additional offices, 2 new conference rooms, a large donation center and an office supply room.

The groundbreaking ceremony included short speeches by HomeAid Phoenix Board President, Chris Cady (Woodside Homes), Maggie’s Place CEO, Laura Magruder, representatives from our Builder Captain companies, David Mueller of PWI Residential, Joe Vannelli of Woodside Homes and Tracy Finley of Shea Homes, and Cindy Quenneville, Executive Director of HomeAid Pheonix, before digging their shovels in the dirt at the construction site to officially break ground on the project.

Maggie’s Place CEO, Laura Magruder stated “Maggie’s Place is grateful to be partnering with HomeAid Phoenix. With more than 600 active alumni families the Family Success Center is the hub of the Maggie’s Place community. Our alumni network has grown by 200% since 2014, expanding this property allows us to meet the ever-growing needs of our families.”

Maggie’s Place provides an invaluable service to our community, welcoming homeless, pregnant and parenting women and their children into a safe and loving community, providing life-changing programs and ongoing services to help them to become self-sufficient.

HomeAid Phoenix Executive Director, Cindy Quenneville commented “Maggie’s Place is committed to helping women in a respectful and dignified manner. Their support of homeless pregnant women aligns with HomeAid Phoenix’s mission by helping people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction. Our building and trade partners are who make the words turn into action. We are honored to work with Maggie’s Place and we look forward to the completion of this project.”
