3rd Annual Charity Trap Shoot Reaches New Fundraising Record to Help Those Impacted By Homelessness in the Valley

HomeAid Phoenix’s Third Annual Charity Trap Shoot recently hosted over 75 teams and 375 individuals from across the Valley’s home building industry. The single-day competition, which took place at the Ben Avery Clay Target Center, sold out for the third year in a row and generated $200,000 in charitable support.

“Arizona’s unhoused population has jumped 23% from 2020 to 2022”, said HomeAid Phoenix Board President Chris Cady. “Core to our mission is a deep belief in the idea that everyone deserves a safe, stable and dignified place to call home.”

2023 Charity Trap Shoot Participant and Volunteers

The event, which has grown in popularity and participation since its first year in 2020, is widely supported by builders, sub-contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers, including 2023 Presenting Sponsor R/S Service & Supply, Inc. “We are thrilled to sponsor the Charity Trap Shoot again for the third year,” said R/S Service President Randy Freberg. “This event proves that when our industry comes together around a common cause- helping those affected by homelessness build new lives, we can make an impactful and lasting difference in our community. Giving back to the community has always been a part of who we are and we’re honored to continue our support to HomeAid Phoenix as Presenting Sponsor of this important event. Seeing the turn out and results we had at this year’s event makes me very proud of our industry.”

Funds raised from the annual charity event will benefit HomeAid’s housing development and community outreach programs designed to connect the skills and passions from the Phoenix building community with projects that will enhance and increase housing inventory and other supports for those experiencing homelessness.

“We are overwhelmed by the generous support of our sponsors, participants, and volunteers,” said Cady. “HomeAid Phoenix offers our industry a way to make a direct impact in the communities where we live and work. It’s successful events like these that allow us to continue on a meaningful path toward fulfilling our mission.”
